6th FACTON Congress on June 25, 2015 at the nhow Hotel in Berlin / for the first time in an international context

"Securing the future with proactive cost Management."

Potsdam, May 12, 2015. The 6th annual FACTON Congress will be held on June 25, 2015 – this is the first year the event will take place in Berlin. It is one of the leading conferences for executives from controlling, purchasing, production and development in key sectors including the automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering and electronics industries. The title and theme of this year’s event is “Securing the future with proactive cost management”.

“To survive in today’s uncertain market environment and ensure profitable growth in the future, manufacturing companies will need to make cost management the cornerstone of their business activities,” says Alexander M. Swoboda, CEO at FACTON. “This includes active cost control, which in turn requires full transparency and clear rules within the enterprise. We want to take advantage of the congress to shed light on these issues and discuss what all of this means in practice.”

This year’s congress will be the first to address an international audience also from non-German-speaking countries. The presentations will be interpreted simultaneously. Adrian Mardell, Deputy CFO & Operations Controller at Jaguar Land Rover, will speak at the event. “Fighting your way to the top requires proactive cost management,  well-planned investments and a focused prioritization',” says Mardell. “As the CFO of an OEM, I know this applies not only to major brands such as JLR, but also to every single company along the entire value chain. So it is important for us to share thoughts and ideas on potential, strategies and decisions that benefit us all.”

Prof. Dr. Bernd Gottschalk, CEO of AutoValue GmbH, former president of the German Automotive Association (VDA) and Daimler board member, also encourages fair relationships among partners in an optimized value chain. In his presentation, “Cost management and competitiveness – Requirements for growth and profitability”, he will discuss the unique situation that vendors find themselves in as “transparent” suppliers with transparent costing design. Gottschalk is Chairman of the FACTON GmbH Advisory Board and is sponsoring the event once again this year.

The agenda also includes other lecturers from the industry, who will present best practice methods along with current developments in the field of cost management. Noted speakers include Andreas Müller, CFO of Georg Fischer Automotive, Dr. Oliver Weiß, Head of Finance, Controlling & IT at Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems, and Jens Delventhal, Head of Processes, Methods, Tools & Controlling at Körber AG. Dr. Rainer Mehl, Senior Vice President of NTT DATA, will be speaking as a member of the FACTON partner network.

The host of the congress is FACTON GmbH, provider of the leading Enterprise Product Costing solution, FACTON EPC. EPC systems enable standardized, enterprise-wide costing independent of location and department. FACTON’s customers include Airbus, Porsche, Behr, Hauni and Roto Frank among others.
