Review of the 2014 User Conference – Enterprise Product Costing in Practice

The 7th FACTON User Conference was dominated by new and innovative ideas along with proven applications featuring FACTON software. Around 120 participants traveled to the Hotel Le Méridien in Stuttgart on November 26, 2014 to share their experiences and ideas with other FACTON users, customers and consultants and learn more about some of the software’s newest areas of application.

“We welcomed more visitors this year than ever before. This positive response shows that the User Conference is a well-established event our customers are always sure to mark on their annual calendars,” commented Christoph Müller, Vice President Services at FACTON and moderator of the post-conference event. “Both long-time and new FACTON users take advantage of this platform to obtain the latest information and share their personal experiences – we look forward to the event every year.”

“The 2014 FACTON User Conference helped us succeed in giving our customers a comprehensive overview of past developments and future advancements here at FACTON. But we also benefit from the event: After all, direct customer feedback is the only way we can continue to develop and grow,” reported Alexander M. Swoboda, COO of FACTON GmbH. During his presentation, Swoboda traced FACTON’s history, from its origins as a provider of tools to its new role as a solutions provider and knowledge partner. He added that, by continually developing the portfolio, FACTON has succeeded in providing support for and integration of process costing at every level of business.

The next item on the agenda was a practical example. Thomas Weis, Head of Controlling at Bühler Motor GmbH, talked about how the high-tech SME is implementing an innovative approach called “results-oriented business management” with the help of FACTON. The audience learned how long-term, operational planning at Bühler provides management with the tools it needs to sustainably achieve its desired results and strategic objectives – around the world.

Dr. Michael Korn, SAP Senior Expert at STEINEL GmbH, also presented practical application examples. He outlined the milestones of his company’s recent implementation of FACTON, underscoring among other things the myriad possibilities that an interface between SAP and FACTON opens up for costing processes.

Later in the conference, FACTON consultants presented selected features such as web reporting, for example. Dr. Rainer Zeifang, Vice President Research and Development at FACTON GmbH, discussed how FACTON’s software architecture can master a variety of challenges, such as optimum Windows integration, efficient storage management and streamlined client-server communication.

Torsten Lach, Director Consulting at FACTON, proved that deploying Enterprise Product Costing software is more than simply a technical issue during his presentation. Hendrik Nießen, Head of Product Controlling at Witte Automotive GmbH, completed the overview of this topic by demonstrating how his company optimized its costing and controlling processes with the help of FACTON software. An integral part of the User Conference was the final, comprehensive overview of current developments at FACTON, with a special focus on FACTON Content.
